Academic guests
Description
Academic guests are scientific employees of domestic or international universities or research institutes. They usually visit ETH Zurich as part of a paid or unpaid sabbatical from their home institution.
Purpose
Academic guests spend a maximum of two years (initially a maximum of one year with an option to extend) at ETH Zurich (institute, laboratory, professorship), mainly on their own initiative, primarily for personal further education or a subject-specific collaboration .
Requirements
- No matriculation at ETH Zurich
- Completed degree
- Employment as a scientist at a domestic or international university or research institute
- Invitation from the inviting unit

A work and residence permit may be obtained through ETH for this guest category.
